Melvin Perry Appointed as Superintendent by Crutcho School Board!!

The Crutcho Public Schools Board of Education announced, at the April 12th board meeting, the promotion of Melvin Perry to be the incoming Superintendent of Crutcho Public Schools, effective July 1, 2022.

Incoming Board President, Erika James said, “We are very excited and hope Mr. Perry’s passionate dedication as superintendent will permeate to our students and staff onto the community. He’s proven to be an invaluable contribution to our growing success as a district.”

 

Melvin Perry currently serves as the Associate Superintendent of Crutcho Public Schools and has worked there for almost three years. Mr. Perry has served in education, in leadership roles for over 20 years. His current responsibilities include advising the Superintendent in all areas of business and finance affairs of the district.

 

An active member of the Tabitha Baptist Church, Melvin Perry is involved with professional organizations such as the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), Oklahoma State School Board Association (OSSBA), Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) and the Oklahoma Association of School Business Officials (OKASBO).

Melvin Perry received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Nazarene University (SNU), as well as a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from SNU in Bethany, Oklahoma. Mr. Perry is from Choctaw, Oklahoma and the father of two children: Jose & Orlando.

 

Crutcho Public Schools serves part of the Northeast Community in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They have over 400 elementary and middle school students. Crutcho Public Schools was established in 1910.


Mr. Perry will succeed Dr. James Branscum, who has served as superintendent since 2017 and is retiring at the end of June, Dr. Branscum will work as a consultant for the district.
