Superintendent Message: CPS Celebrates Student Academic Growth

December 12, 2022,

Crutcho Families, Staff and Community,

The state report card will be published soon. I wanted to provide our families, staff and community an update about the progress that Crutcho Public Schools is achieving.

For Pre-K through 8th grade, the school is assessed on four categories: Academic Achievement; Academic Growth; English Language Proficiency Assessment; and Chronic Absenteeism.

The last category, chronic absenteeism for Crutcho was an "F" score and prevented us from scoring a "C" grade overall. This failing score moved Crutcho from a "C" to a "D" in Academic Achievement. We are working on key performances to improve our overall attendance and asking for parents and community support to do this.

The good news for Crutcho is a significant improvement in each of our academic improvement categories. In Academic Growth and English Language Proficiency Assessment, Crutcho improved to a letter grade of "C" for school year 2021-2022. Considering the last school year, 2020-2021, was a difficult year due to COVID, we are pleased with these scores, but our goal will be continuous improvement of excellence for our students.

Please call me at 405-427-3771 if you have questions or concerns about this communication.

In Service,

Melvin Perry, Superintendent
