The Crutcho Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) NEEDS YOU!!  Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5 p.m. in the school cafeteria.  Come join us!!  We're growing quickly but it is our goal to see every parent and staff member a part of our team!!

     The PTO plans to focus on building our community through our school gardens.   We have ten garden plots and a green house waiting for your helping hands and ideas.  We need volunteers to help us plan the best strategies,  to help with the children in the gardens,  and to help maintain the gardens.   We have opportunities to help that fit any schedule!

     We know children learn best when they are active and they can connect the new learning to real life.  We want to grow flowers and vegetables in the green house to transfer into our gardens.   Students will read books related to gardening, learn to measure and graph, learn about the life cycle of plants, and practice their writing skills through lessons all connected to the garden.  Future plans include using the produce in our school lunch program and the flowers in our flower beds.   We also hope to sell our flowers and vegetables to raise money for the school and to teach the children about the basics of running a small business.   

    If you have any skills, talents, or are interested in learning more about gardening, please join us!  We can find a way for you to help.   Even if you have no interest in gardening, but want to help improve our school and just be more involved in your child’s education, we need you, too.
